Woolstaplers, High Street, Blockley, England
"Woolstaplers" is a very old building, at the "Dovedale End" of High Street, Blockley, England. It starts just beyond,"The Red Lion" which is on the other side of the street.
Attached is "Rose Row", a long curved building (notice the color change in the stone) which is across the street from "Vine Cottage" and the lane to "Fish Cottage" and "The Warren." The back of these residences abut the road.
"Woolstaplers" was used during the time of the wool trade when locally produced wool would be brought into this building to be evaluated and purchased. (source: Blockley Past and Present, digital manuscript by John Malin, 2004, used by permission; and Lucy McCoy's notes, Nov. 1999)
